#PlayOrPass "I Need to Know". Ledisi Releases New Music Just Ahead of New Tour. [LISTEN]
Soul singer Ledisi is back with new music after taking a few years off to focus on acting. Ledisi recently starred in "Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story" an independent film surrounding the life of gospel legend Mahalia Jackson. The singer admits to putting on pounds so that she could "feel the weight" of Jackson's character and feeling unsure of it all.
“It took me a minute to get it out. I can’t lie,” Ledisi says. “The second day, I was like, ‘I don’t know if I can do this.'”
Well, do it she did! "Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story" debuted on Hulu to wonderful reviews. Now, the songstress has emerged once again with a new offering for her fans in the form of music!
"I Need To Know" is the first single from her upcoming late spring LP. On the driving ballad, Ledisi delivers a powerfully emotional performance surrounded by lush harmonies that tell the story of a relationship in question and the need for resolution.
