#SmallBusinessSpotlight: Mom of 6 Empowers Youth with Her Company"4 Kids Like Mine"!

If you've been looking for cute holiday gifts for children of color, you're in luck! 4KidsLikeMine.com has some of the cutest dolls, books, apparel and party supplies for children that we've ever seen! The message of 4KidsLikeMine is simple, they want to empower children by showing them positive images of children who look just like them.

4KidsLikeMine is owned and operated by Latashia Perry, a mother of six, recently took her online business to the streets! Perry has secured a mobile book boutique and names it, 'Kids Like Mine'. The mobile boutique houses all of the wonderful gifts that the webstore carries but, with an added flare!

Perry is the author of the books sold in "Kids Like Mine" covering subjects such as hair, skin tone and having a healthy imagination. Perry told NBC 25 News that she's not only an author of children's books but, she "reads virtually to classes and already has schools from other states looking to bring her in to encourage their students."

“It’s just important for kids to be able to see themselves portrayed in a positive way. We’re often saying that kids aren’t into reading anymore and I think just what it is... they don’t have books they can relate to, when kids can open up books and see characters that look like themselves it makes them more excited about reading," said Perry.

The mobile book boutique hopes to hit the road in early spring but, if you'd like to pick up a book, shirt, doll or backpack for your little reader, you can visit 4KidsLikeMine.com today!

Let's spread the holiday cheer by shopping with small businesses first!
