Mother Shot and Killed Just Days After Burying Her 5-Year-Old Who was Also Shot and Killed!

In a horrible turn on events, a South Bend, Indiana family now has to bury their daughter after just burying her 5-year-old son. According to reports, 32-year-old Kaylynn Davidson just buried her son, Kyler Nowlin Jackson, 5, who was accidently shot and killed by a 9-year-old relative.

Jackson had been shot by the relative while the two children were presumably handling the firearm. Jackson was rushed to the hospital late Saturday where he remained in critical condition. The following Wednesday, the family chose to remove him from life support.

Just days after Jackson's funeral, his mother lost her life after a fight outside an area restaurant on May 17. Reports say that Kaylynn Davidson got into an altercation with a woman but did not make it back home alive.

During the altercation, the other woman, identified as 26-year-old Kimarie Wright, allegedly drew a gun and shot Davidson multiple times before going back into the restaurant. Eye witness reports, including reports from those who were attempting to diffuse the situation, say that Davidson was running away from Wright when she fired the weapon.

Davidson was taken to an area hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Although surveillance footage reportedly showed Davidson appearing to hit Wright prior to the shooting, the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s office said that did not justify the suspect’s use of deadly force.

“While the evidence suggests that the victim may have engaged in a physical altercation with the defendant, due to the lack of imminent threat toward Wright or a third person, the prosecutor’s office did not find that the homicide was justifiable,” prosecutors said.

Wright was arrested and charged with murder and manslaughter.
