Philadelphia Man Found Dead and Partially Eaten by His Dogs When Family Show Up for a Wellness Check

A Philadelphia man was discovered dead, and partially eaten, last night when his family came to check on him. The 67-year-old man hadn't been heard from in a few days and his neighbors and family dropped by to check on him. What they saw through a window left them in shock. He was laying in bed and his face had been partially eaten by his dogs.

Via ABC6:

"Animal control arrived around 8:30 p.m. One by one, they removed the three dogs from the home, two 10-month-old Cane Corso/ Bull Mastiff mixes and their mother.

Hamin Melvin, the victim's brother-in-law, said the dogs have not been known to be dangerous in the past."

This is such a sad case. Nobody wants to find their loved one dead, let alone maimed. The deceased was said to have been in poor health and, at this time, his cause of death is unknown. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed by the coroner.

The dogs, while they may have initially appeared to be aggressive, went with Animal Control officials willingly and without incident.

There is no word on what will be the outcome of the three dogs.
