In Like a Lyon, Out Like a Lamb. "Empire" is Closing Up Shop After Season 6.

We can't say that this is totally Jussie Smollett's fault but dammit, folks are getting ready to be out of work and it's mighty coincidental that it's happening now!

You all remember how Jussie Smollett, who plays one of the sons on the show "Empire", said that he was beaten in a racially charged, homophobic attack right? The world thought he staged that crime and he was brought up on charges. Well, his charges were dropped but it looks like Fox, like the North, remembers!

The highly rated, musical drama "Empire" is coming to an end!

Variety reports that the Fox network announced earlier today that the sixth season of "Empire" would be it's last.

“We are turning the final season into a television event,” Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier said. “One of the great benefits of announcing a final season announce have the fans lean in have the finale they desire.”

When pressed on whether Jussie Smollett would be returning for the show’s final season, Collier said, “At this point, we have no plans for that.” But Collier also noted that “the writers room for next season hasn’t even gathered yet.”

As was previously announced, Fox Entertainment and 20th Century Fox Television have extended Smollett’s option for Season 6, but said at the time of the renewal that there were no plans for him to appear."

We're sincerely hoping that Smollett's shenanigans wasn't the deciding factor in ending the show but, at this point, we are all suspicious of Jussie.

We're hoping that the actors and actresses who've found a home, and a paycheck, on "Empire" find good, steady work fast!

This is a prime example of how the actions of one, have an effect on everyone!
