Virginia Wife Convinces Her Husband to Disembowel a Pizza Shop Worker After an Argument Over a "Botched" Pizza Order!
A Virginia town is shocked after a disagreement over a wrong pizza order has led to a gruesome murder.
Catherine Harper, 45, went to a branch of the Mod Pizza chain near her home in Norfolk, Virginia for a midday order. She claimed that the order wasn't done to her satisfaction and got into a verbal altercation with the 24-year-old employee of the store. After leaving the store, enraged, Harper called her husband and told him to come and “Handle the situation." Her husband, Corey Harper, 47, arrived at the location and unleashed an attack on the young employee that inevitably took their life.
According to reports obtained by local news outlet WAVY, “The Victim was stabbed several times, in the back, in the front, and one long cut across the torso exposing the Victim’s intestines,” a Nov. 18 filing reads. “[Corey Harper] and wife left the scene,” the document adds. A judge in Norfolk General District Court ordered the couple to be held without bond on Monday following their arraignment.
Case records show Corey Harper is facing felony charges of malicious wounding and brandishing a firearm, while his wife is charged with conspiracy to commit malicious wounding. The two of them are due to appear in court again on Jan. 14.
Mod Pizza released a statement saying:
“We were dismayed to learn about an argument inside our Norfolk-area Lake Wright restaurant involving one of our employees and two guests,” the chain said. “The altercation resulted in one of our MOD squad members being hospitalized and the arrest of one of the guests. Please understand this is an active investigation and we are cooperating with the local police. While our team member recuperates in the hospital, we are conducting our due diligence and will make a well-thought-out decision about this situation. MOD Pizza has zero tolerance for behavior that escalates conflicts, whether initiated by a guest or a team member.”
A neighbor of the Harpers said they were surprised to learn about what happened, and said he’s always had congenial interactions with them, having loaned each other tools and garden equipment.
“I’m surprised,” said Wayne Sarapata, who lives a few houses down from the Harpers. “This is a quiet neighborhood, and we are all friends here. I would think that is out of character from what I know about them, but like I said, I know them as a neighbor.”
This just goes to show you that you never know what people are capable of. This was absolutely senseless.
