Three Arrested and Charged After Cops Find Marijuana Plants and a Severely Malnourished Baby, Who They Fed Goat Milk and Mountain Dew, at Their Home.
Missouri police have quite a bit of work on their hands after a concerned citizen’s call left them with a very sick baby!
Just yesterday Douglas County Deputies arrested Jammie Jean White age 44 of Ava, Ashlee Dean age 21 of Ava and Nicholas Womble age 25 of Ava on Grand Jury Indictments. These indictments were a result of an investigation conducted by Sheriff Chris Degase, Deputy Joe Dering and Children’s Division after a hotline was received on an 8-week-old infant child.
Deputy Dering initially responded to the residence with Children’s Division where he located approximately 80 well cared for mature marijuana plants. No one was at the residence at the time deputies were there but, approximately 1 hour later Sheriff Degase and Deputy Dering returned to the residence to find the marijuana plants chopped down and lying in a pile.
Sheriff Degase knocked on the door and Jammie White answered the door. White advised that Ashlee Dean and Womble ran into the woods with the infant child after Deputy Dering left. White admitted to cutting down the marijuana plants after Deputy Dering left the first time. White yelled and the three subjects came out of the woods. Sheriff Degase found the infant to be very malnourished and in poor physical condition.
The infant was transported to the hospital by ambulance. It was found the infant had not been given its medication that had been prescribed by a doctor. The infant was being fed goat milk replacer, Vienna Sausages and Code Red Mountain Dew. The infant was taken into States Custody and began receiving medical treatment and examinations. All three subjects were charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child 1st Degree and Child Abuse both are Class B Felonies. Whites bond was set at $150,000 cash only while Dean and Wombles was set at $15,000 cash only.
Sheriff Degase would like to thank Children’s Division for their assistance in this investigation as well as all the Doctors and Foster Parents who have cared for this infant child since the initial incident.
This is so sad but we’re thankful someone tipped off the authorities and hopefully saved this baby from a horrible childhood or worse.
