New York Times Best Selling Author, Eric Jerome Dickey, Has Reportedly Died at the Age of 59.

Urban author Eric Jerome Dickey has reportedly passed away. Dickey, 59, a native of Memphis, TN published his first work, "Decadence" in 1982 but rose to fame among urban readers in 1996 with his book "Sister, Sister". Known for writing colorful and passionate stories centered around African American life, Dickey has covered every subject from crime to confessions.


His books have held steady positions on regional bestseller lists and have been featured in many publications, including ESSENCE, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Los Angeles Times.


His novel, "The Business of Lovers" published in April of 2020 was his most recent work to land on the New York Times Best Sellers list. According to Dickey's family the literary award winner passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.
