Netflix's "The Upshaws" Gets Season 2 Part 1 Trailer with Possible Trouble in Paradise!
One of the best shows we've seen on Netflix in a VERY long time is "The Upshaws"! Not just because it's funny but because it's relatable to today's blended families. Created by Regina Y. Hicks and Wanda Sykes, season 2 sees the return of Mike Epps as Bernie Shaw, Kim Fields as Regina Upshaw, Wanda Sykes as Lucretia Turner, Page Kennedy as Duck, Diamond Lyons as Kelvin Upshaw, Khali Daniya-Renee Spraggins as Aaliyah Upshaw, Jermelle Simon as Bernard Upshaw, Gabrielle Dennis as Tasha Lewis and Journey Christine as Maya Upshaw.
This family is a New-Age yours, mine and ours with a twist. If you haven't seen season one, you need to do so FAST! Season two is coming through and it looks like there's a little trouble in Bennie and Regina's perfectly unperfect marriage!
Here's the synopsis:
Bennie Upshaw (Mike Epps), the head of a Black working class family in Indianapolis, is a charming, well-intentioned mechanic and lifelong mess just trying his best to step up and care for his family — wife Regina (Kim Fields), their two young daughters (Khali Spraggins, Journey Christine) and firstborn son (Jermelle Simon), the teenage son (Diamond Lyons) he fathered with another woman (Gabrielle Dennis) — and tolerate his sardonic sister-in-law (Wanda Sykes), all without a blueprint for success. But the Upshaws are determined to make it work, and make it to the next level, together. In season 2 part 1, the Upshaws continue to ride life’s ups and downs, including new loves, old flames, big dreams, life changes and the love and drama that comes with family.
It's a hood-good as you think it is and we can't wait to see more!
Part 1 drops on June 29 and will consist of eight, 30-minute episodes. The next part will be released at another date.
