Michigan Police Find a Body in the Trunk of a Car that Crashed During a High Speed Chase.
A wild police chase in Michigan has ended with one dead, one injured and a gruesome discovery. According to their reports the Dearborn Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle that was involved in a missing person investigation on Sunday around 2:05 p.m. near Normile Street and Tireman Avenue.
Through some tricky driving skills the officers lost the suspect vehicle after a pursuit.
Not long after a crash scene was located not far from where the officers lost sight of the vehicle.
Police say, as the officers approached the crashed vehicle there was an exchange of gunfire.
The suspect was found dead with a gunshot wound. Although it's apparent how the suspect died, detectives are still working with medical examiners to determine the cause of death.
A passenger of the suspect vehicle was taken to a local hospital with injuries from the crash.
After the gunfire and discovery of the slain driver, officers began to search the vehicle. Officials say there were human remains found in the trunk of the vehicle but those remains have not been identified nor have they said whether or not they are believed to be the missing person.
Michigan State Police and the Detroit Police Department Homicide Task Force will be assisting Dearborn Police Department in the investigation as officials say there may be ties to another out-of-state homicide investigation.
This is a developing story and we will report more once details become available.
