BET's "Comic View" Makes its Return to Television, After a Sixteen-Year Absence, Featuring Tommy Davidson, Brandi Denise, DC Young Fly, T.I. “Tip” Harris and More!
If you were a child, or lover, of the 90's then you know how transformative and iconic BET's "Comic View" was for cable television. The original series debuted in 1992 on BET, and featured a mix of new and veteran comedians from across the country in their element: entertaining the masses with their side-splitting comedy. It’s been hosted by legendary comedians D.L. Hughley, Cedric The Entertainer, Kevin Hart, and Sommore, amongst others. The "stand-up" styled show launched careers or a larger scale for many of today's hottest comedians such as Katt Williams, Montana Taylor and Gary Owen. Comic View's final episode ran in December 2008 leaving a big void for urban comedy lovers.
Well, after almost two whole decades, the laughs are coming back!
The iconic stand-up comedy franchise, "Comic View," makes its return after a sixteen-year absence, featuring four all-new episodes. Taped in front of a live audience during Hartbeat Weekend 2023 in Las Vegas, the comedy showcase is hosted by Mike Epps and features an all-star lineup of comedians including Brandi Denise, Jayski, DC Young Fly, Tony Roberts, Navv Greene, Bresha Webb, Tommy Davidson, Lavar Walker, Tacarra Williams, and the televised standup debut of multi-platinum rapper, Tip “T.I” Harris.
We can't wait for "Comic View's" return! You can binge the 4-episode original stand-up comedy series that premieres on Thursday, March 14, only on BET+.
