71-Year-Old Woman Found Murdered in Her Home. Police Say HER SON is Their Only Suspect!

Prince George's County police performing a welfare check yesterday made a gruesome discovery. A 71-year-old woman dead, with obvious signs of trauma, in her own apartment.

Officers were sent to the residence of Johnetta Wormley in the 2900 block of Brinkley Road in Temple Hills to check on her shortly before 2 p.m.

Here's the worst part, police believe Wormley was killled by her own son, 53-year-old John Frederick Carrington.

According to NBC 4, police said Carrington also is charged with stabbing someone in Clinton a day before he allegedly killed his mother.

The victim in that case survived.

He also is charged with allegedly attempting to rob a gas station.

Wormley's family say that they were shocked to learn of her death and they're urging her son to turn himself in peacefully.

At this moment there is no word on why Carrington killed his mother or why he went on a raging spree of violence.

Police are actively searching for Carrington in an attempt to take him in to custody for his crimes. Right now, no one has seen Carrington and police have no idea where he could be. He is, however, to be considered dangerous.
