Additional Remains Found in the Case of Missing Fort Hood Soldier Vanessa Guillen.

The search for missing soldier Vanessa Guillen just keeps getting worse. Just the other day unidentified partial remains were found near Leon River which is just 25 miles from Fort Hood, the last place Guillen was seen alive.

The investigators handling the case had two suspects in her disappearance but one of them, a man by the name of Aaron Robinson, committed suicide when confronted about the case. The other suspect, an unidentified woman, is said to be the wife of a former Fort Hood soldier.

Now, the case takes an even more gruesome turn as more remains have been found.

CBS10 reports that investigators found the additional remains Wednesday after returning to an area near the Leon River where partial remains were discovered Tuesday in a shallow grave.

Authorities returned to the site Wednesday morning to process the scene for evidence using drones and cadaver dogs while DNA and dental records are being used in an effort to identify the remains found Tuesday, officials said.

The Guillen family attorney Natalie Khawam said during a virtual news conference Wednesday in Washington, D.C., that evidence connects the remains to the missing soldier, but provided no specifics.

A resident who smelled an unusual odor in the area Tuesday called the Bell County Sheriff’s Office, which found the remains in a shallow grave near where Texas Equusearch volunteers scoured the river earlier as part of their effort to find Guillen, who disappeared sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on April 22.

We are closely following this case and will be reporting new details as they become available.
