New Details Emerge in the Disappearance of Missing Soldier Vanessa Guillen. Possible Suspect Shot Hi
There has been new developments in the disappearance of Fort Hood soldier Private First Class Vanessa Guillen.
Guillen, 20, went missing in April and, as much as her family has tried, hardly any details from the base have come to light. Guillen's family remains adamant that the Army base is withholding information to protect themselves. They say that Guillen, just before she went missing, told them that she had been sexually assaulted on the base.
Just a few days ago, searchers stumbled upon partial remains of an unidentified body in a wooded area where another soldier had been found just days before. The, as yet, unidentified remains are presumed, at this point, to be those of Guillen. It has been reported that they were found concealed in a slab of concrete.
According to Texas EquuSearch founder Tim Miller, the suspected killers, according to Miller, poured freshly-mixed concrete directly onto Guillen’s body to make a homemade body vault. They also allegedly bought lime, shovels, and plastic bags, then covered the body with rocks.
The area near Leon River in Bell County is still being processed by investigators but, investigators did have two people of interest in the case.
We used the word "did" because, in the wee hours of this morning, one suspect took his own life.
According to the Guillen family lawyer, Natalie Kwahan, one of the suspects, recently identified as Aaron Robinson, shot himself overnight at around 1:30 a.m this morning after he learned that the partial remains had been found. "He ran out in shorts when confronted and shot himself in the head."
The other person of interest was taken into custody. It has been reported that she is the estranged wife of a former Fort Hood soldier and is currently in the Bell County Jail.
Guillen was last seen April 22 between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Regimental Engineer Squadron Headquarters, 3rd Cavalry Regiment on Fort Hood, Texas and has not been heard from since.
Her car keys, barracks room key, identification card, and wallet were later found in the armory room where she was working earlier in the day. She was last seen in the parking lot wearing a black t-shirt and purple fitness-type pants. She's described as being of Hispanic descent, five feet, two inches tall, 126 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
We don't really know what to think at this point but, we're praying for Guillen's family.
