The World Reacts to The Devastating Death of Kobe and Gianna Bryant.

Yesterday the sports world was rocked by the devastating loss of Kobe Bryant. Bryant, 41, along with his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, were among nine people killed when a helicopter they were riding in crashed in California.

Also among the passengers were Orange Coast College (OCC) baseball coach John Altobelli, his wife, Keri, and daughter, Alyssa. Gianna and Alyssa were teammates at the Mamba Academy, OCC assistant coach Ron La Ruffa told CNN, and Altobelli would often fly with his daughter to attend the games. Christina Mauser, an assistant girls basketball coach at a K-8 private school in Orange County also died in the crash.

The group was flying to Thousand Oaks, California, Sunday for a basketball game, where Gianna was expected to play and Bryant was expected to coach.

The world stood still while we all held our breath and took a moment of silence for this tragic loss of life. However, in our time of grief, heartfelt tributes and sentiments started to pour in.

The entire city of Los Angeles lit up in tribute for their fallen Laker.

Bryant leaves behind his wife Vanessa, three daughters and his parents. This is such a great and terrible loss for Kobe's fans, colleagues and the world who loved him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and families of everyone who lost their life in yesterday's tragic accident.
