13-Year-Old Escaped Murder Suspect Turned in by His Own Mother.
A 13-year-old boy, identified only as Jericho W., from North Carolina has been accused of two counts of first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. When Jericho went to his court date on this past Tuesday and managed to slip away from court marshals and escape all while wearing leg restraints and no shoes.
Full details on exactly why Jericho was being held aren't available however, he and a 19-year-old man were facing charges in connection with the murders of two brothers in Lumberton. The bodies of Frank Thomas, 34 and Adam Thomas, 33, were found in their own home on Oct. 15.
The Robeson County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed two men were killed as a result of multiple gunshots.
Jericho managed to stay hidden from authorities for a full 24 hours until he was finally recaptured. Reports say the juvenile was turned over to U.S. Marshals around 10 p.m. Wednesday by his own mother. He was then taken back to Cumberland Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Fayetteville, the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
We applaud this mother for doing what we know had to be one of the hardest tasks she'll ever have to face. Could you have turned in your child for committing a crime?
