Our love for Tubi is not unknown if you've been following our content. It literally has something for everyone and the fact that Tubi is a continuous streamer makes it top tier. What do we mean when we say a continuous streamer? It means Tubi isn't going to ask you a million times if you're still watching like a bunch of the other streamers do! Tubi is going to roll from one episode to another and then once you're done with whatever series you've been watching, it's going to give you something similar that you might like as well.
That's how a bunch of our staff found out about "Love Don't Pay the Bills"! In an odd coincidence, one staff member binge watched the series the same day that another had a press junket with the cast! When the two met up "around the water cooler" everyone within earshot had to know exactly what was going down!
So, here's the deal "Love Don't Pay the Bills" is from the masterful mind of Silk White! Yes, THAT Silk White. Author of "Tears of a Hustler", "Time is Money" and "The Teflon Queen"! With such titles under his belt, it was no wonder "Love Don't Pay the Bills" had everyone clutching their invisible pearls and hollering at their TVs!
“This story is about what people do for love, what they hide for survival, and what it costs when the truth finally shows up,” says Silk White. “It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s going to leave people talking.”
At the heart of the series is Trina (Arielle Johnson), a financially driven woman expertly juggling a double life, one built on control, secrecy, and survival. But when a calculated decision entangles her with Romelo (Blue Kimble) and his wife Missy (Brely Evans), Trina’s carefully built world begins to crack. As loyalties blur and unspoken rules tighten around her, Trina is forced to confront a dangerous truth: Love is costly, but silence might cost her more.
Meanwhile, unresolved wounds from Trina’s complicated relationship with her mother, Chelle (Torrei Hart), start to resurface, threatening to expose everything she has fought to bury. In a world where survival is currency, every step she takes brings her closer to a secret she can no longer outrun.
Trust us, you haven't seen Brely Evans like this EVER and Torrei Hart is absolutely phenomenal in her role! The cast met up with us to discuss their characters and while Evans said that she was always known for her "best friend characters" she pulled inspiration for "Missy" right out of her family! "My grandma, aunts and women in my family could be like her" she said. Hart, chuckled, when reflecting on her character, Chelle, who was a recovering addict. "I started wo wonder why I was always being cast as a crackhead?!" she laughed. Although we shared laughs with the cast, the show, in itself, is heavy and deserves a binge!
Do yourself a favor and get into "Love Don't Pay the Bills"! All episodes are streaming FOR FREE on Tubi now!
