No Surveillance Footage Found in Jussie Smollett Attack. Terrence Howard Calls it "Lyon Family
Just hours after the reported attack on "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett was reported, police in Chicago began combing through hours and hours of surveillance footage from nearby businesses. Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi confirms that they can trace Smollett's route on camera from several surrounding businesses but there are gaps in the footage and NONE of it shows the alleged attack.
Smollett's on-screen father, Terrence Howard, sat down with Good Morning America today to express his thoughts and support for his "son". Howard described Smollett as "the one that cheers everybody up" and said that everyone was "in shock" over the incident.
The story, while vile and hideous in nature, has turned up a lot of support for the actor but also, raised a few eyebrows. There are some who are calling this attack a hoax and some who are saying that the police department's lack of evidence is a cover up. It's no secret that this same police department once tried to conceal the murder of LaQuan McDonald that was caught on video.
Smollett hasn't released an official statement or returned to work, The shooting schedule for "Empire" has been adjusted to allow him time to recover but, according to sources, he should be returning to work shortly.
