Patti LaBelle is Joining the "Greenleaf" Cast for Season 3!

It looks like the Greenleaf drama is going to be heating up even more during season three! An announcement was made today saying that the grand diva, Patti LaBelle, will be joining the "Greenleaf" cast as a "good friend" of Lady Mae Greenleaf.

"Welcome to the #GREENLEAF family, Ms. Patti LaBelle! In the upcoming Season 3, Patti will play Maxine Patterson, long-time friend of Lady Mae. Calvary will never be the same."

Kind of interesting how these characters names are very similar to the names in a particular religious institution. I'm going to leave that tea for another day.

Some of you may know that this isn't Ms. LaBelle's first go-round in front of the camera. She appeared in the 90's sitcom "A Different World" as Adele Wayne, Dwayne Wayne's mother and most recently she was a regular on "American Horror Story" and "Daytime Divas". She is currently touring and doing shows with singers Kem and Chrisette Michelle.

Ms. LaBelle's addition comes on the heels of last season's explosive ending where Bishop left Lady Mae and somehow ended up in the hands, and possibly the bed of, Bassey Skanks sister.
