Three-Month-Old Baby Found Dead in Wooded Bronx Area. Grandfather Turns in His Own Son.


A Bronx couple have been arrested after the body of their newborn daughter was found in a wooded area Sunday night. According to Pix11 News, the body of three-month-old Genevieve Comager was found dead near West 161st Street and the Major Deegan Expressway in Highbridge around 8:30 p.m., the baby lived nearby in the Bronx on University Avenue with the accused couple.


The infant's grandfather contacted police after he says his son admitted to shaking the baby two weeks ago, accidentally killing her, then disposing of her little body.


Police said Damion Comager, 23, of the Bronx, was arrested on charges of murder, manslaughter and concealment of a human corpse. The child’s mother, Ivana Paolozzi, 20, of the Bronx, was arrested as well on charges of concealment of a human corpse and obstructing governmental administration, according to officials.


Comager reportedly said "I love my daughter" and "This was a mistake" as he was being led away in handcuffs.


An autopsy is being performed to determine just how the infant died.


This investigation is ongoing but both Comager and Paolozzi are remaining behind bars.
