Texas Man Allegedly Shot and Killed His Girlfriend's Teen Daughter! Both Had Their Pants Down!

This case is so heartbreaking that we're almost speechless. A 60-year-old Texas man has been arrested and charged with shooting and killing his girlfriend's 16-year-old daughter.

It all started Friday, just after 1 a.m. when Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables responded to a weapons disturbance when young woman called and said her mother’s boyfriend was holding her 16-year-old sister captive inside their home.

"She just wanted to get away, that's all she wanted," said Keryca Harmon, the victim's sister. "She just said he was being really weird and wanted me to pick her up."

When deputies arrived, they said they heard a gunshot and then screaming, investigators said. The deputies then heard a second shot shortly after.

Deputies said Van Brinson, 60, came out of the home and told them, “Do what you have to do.”

Brinson emerged from the home pulling his pants up and, upon entering the home, deputies found Lauren Juma, 16, with her pants down, around her ankles, and dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

No one else was at the residence at the time of the shooting. Authorities confirmed that Juma's mother was out of town working with the incident occurred. Her mother spoke to KHOU 11 News about her daughter's murder.

"I just know my baby called me, Facetimed me and she said, 'mom, help me,'" said her mother, Laurie Young, choking back tears. "That's the last time I heard her voice."

Juma was a sophomore at Nimitz High School. The family says she'd just joined the cheer squad. She was just a child who had a promising future ahead of her and, sadly, her life was cut short.

Young says she doesn't understand how this happened. She'd been in a relationship with the suspect for five years.

Brisnson has been charged with murder and is being held on a $1 million bond.

"He treated Lauren like she was his baby," said Young. "I don't understand. He can rot in jail. He had no reason to take my baby's life."
