Texas Couple Arrested in Connection with Child's Skeletal Remains Found with Her Abandoned Kids!
The mother of three children who were left abandoned in a Texas apartment, with the remains of their dead brother, has been arrested.
Texas authorities have arrested 35-year-old Gloria Williams and her boyfriend, 31-year-old Brian Coulter. Police believe that Coulter killed the 8-year-old boy in 2020.
According to the medical examiner's office the young boy died from blunt force injuries and his death has been ruled a homicide.
Williams is charged with injury to a child by omission and tampering with evidence (human corpse).
Williams' other children, all boys ages 15, 10 and 7, hadn't been seen in school since May of 2020 and neighbors reported that they thought the 15-year-old lived in the apartment but had never seen the other children before.
“They [the children] were in there while the body was deteriorating,” Harris County Sheriff, Ed Gonzalez, said at a press conference. The siblings “were fending for each other. … The 15-year-old was taking care of the others.”
The 15-year-old boy is the one who alerted police to the death of his brother. He placed a call for help on Sunday to tell authorities that he and his siblings had been living in an apartment with their deceased brother. When deputies arrived, they found remains that appeared consistent with the age provided by the 15-year-old.
They said the two youngest boys appeared to be malnourished with signs of physical injury, according to investigators.
The children were removed from the apartment and taken to a local hospital for medical checkups. They’re now in the custody of Child Protective Services.
“Child Protective Services is currently investigating alongside law enforcement to ensure the immediate safety of the children. The children are being evaluated at an area hospital and the Department of Family and Protective Services is seeking emergency custody of all three boys,” CPS said in a statement.
