Ohio Person Arrested After Kidnapping Attempt! Tried to Grab the Child Outside of His Home but the Family Dog Saved the Day!

An arrest was made in Ohio after a person, identified by authorities as a male but female presenting, allegedly tried to abduct a little boy from his home.

Joshua Freyermuth, 39, who also goes by the name Vicky, was said to have approached the child, an 11-year-old boy, outside of his home and tried to lure him away. Freyermuth tried to entice the child away from the family's dog that was with the boy in the front yard of their home on South Webb Ave, in Alliance. When the boy didn't come with Freyermuth voluntarily, they grabbed the boy by his arm. That's when the family's dog attacked Freyermuth and the boy was able to get away.

The child's father, Zachery Thurmond, says that his son told him that Freyermuth "kicked his heels off, my son said he had white high heels on, and then he took off running down the street."

A police report states that the suspect was originally arrested two days earlier, on September 20, for possession of methamphetamines, paraphernalia and obstructing official business.

The report detailed how Freyermuth was on South Mechanic Avenue when officers in the area arrived.

They had received complaints of Freyermuth, who is described as homeless, driving in circles and attempting to speak to children in the area.

During the investigation, Freyermuth was arrested after officers allegedly found 1.6 grams of meth hidden in the steering wheel of the van and a glass bubble pipe with meth inside of it hidden under the driver's seat.

The report says Freyermuth attempted to lie about his activities to obstruct officers, changed his story multiple times and provided misinformation.

It notes there was 'no reason to believe the defendant was in the area "looking for children," despite the arrest.'

Freyermuth was released on bond for the September 20 incident. Clearly that wasn't the case.

Freyermuth was arrested at a home along State Route 62 in Knox Township, Columbiana county just about an hour away from the boy's home. They are expected to stay in police custody until their court hearing and possibly beyond.
