Lions Gate to Debut New Horror Film from Creators of "M3GAN" and "Five Nights" Starring DeWanda Wise
There's one genre that we feel folks can never get enough of and Lionsgate is adding to it. HORROR!
Lionsgate, who has brought us such movies as "The Hunger Games" trilogy, the "John Wick" series and "The Brothers", has partnered with Blumhouse on a new Tower of Babble production called "Imaginary".
Here's the synopsis:
Blumhouse, the genre-defining masterminds behind FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S and M3GAN, comes an original horror that taps into the innocence of imaginary friends – and begs the question: Are they really figments of childhood imagination or is something more terrifying lying just beneath? When Jessica (DeWanda Wise) moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter Alice (Pyper Braun) develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that begin playful and become increasingly sinister. As Alice’s behavior becomes more and more concerning, Jessica intervenes only to realize Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed him to be.
Wise was most recently cast as Kayla Watts in Jurassic World Dominion, she's been nearly universally considered a standout of the sixth installment with critics noting her magnetism, swagger, wit, and charisma. We fell in love with her during season two of "Underground" and we can't wait to see her slay this role!
