Decomposing Bodies of Two Young Children Found in Burning Apartment in Baltimore.

Police in Baltimore are trying to piece together exactly what happened to two young children found dead in their home this morning.

Neighbors at the Coventry Manor Apartments were roused mid-morning to the quiet commotion of police. Residents in the area say that the neighborhood is usually very quiet and very safe but, the presence of police drew them from their homes to see what was happening.

Officials said when officers arrived at the scene, they found two unidentified deceased juveniles — one male and one female. Officials said they were both in a state of decomposition and visible trauma was observed. It is unclear at this moment exactly what prompted the police to visit the apartment or just how the children died.

Commissioner Harrison was at the scene to oversee the investigation at one point during the evening. Police said they are now working with the Medical Examiner’s office to determine the cause of deaths.
