Columbus Police Officer Murders Man Armed with a Sandwich in Front of His Grandmother!

Time and time again the peacekeepers in this country neglect to serve and protect its citizens. There have been too many murders of unarmed African Americans who were posing absolutely no threat to the public at the time of their deaths.

The most recent murder happened in Columbus, Ohio.

23-year-old Casey Goodson Jr. was literally on his grandmother's doorstep when he was gunned down this past Sunday. Officers say that Goodson was brandishing a weapon but his family says that he had his mask in one hand trying to unlock the door and a sandwich in the other.

According to WOSU, at a press conference, Peter Tobin, U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, said that officers were finishing an unsuccessful search for a suspect Friday when deputies encountered Goodson.

"He was seen driving down the street waving a gun, and that's when the deputy, at some point after that, he confronted him and it went badly," Tobin said.

Goodson was shot by Deputy Jason Meade, a 17-year veteran of the department who was assigned to the United States Marshall's Service Fugitive Task Force.

Goodson was not the man that the deputies were in the neighborhood searching for.

Goodson's sister took to social media to state the family's side of the event saying:

"They are lying! My brother literally walked across the yard, walked into the back fence to get to the side door, had his Subway and mask in one hand keys in the other, UNLOCKED AND OPENED THE DOOR and stepped in the house before shooting him," Harper wrote Saturday. "IF HE WAS SUCH A THREAT WHY DID YOU WAIT SO LONG TO SHOOT?! WHY DID YOU [sic] KILL A MAN WALKING INTO HIS OWN HOME?!"

Police say a gun was recovered from Goodson's body. Goodson's family says that he did have a license to carry a gun.

"His death was witnessed by his 72-year-old Grandmother and two toddlers who were near the door. Casey was coming home from a dentist appointment that day."

There has been unrest in the city of Columbus following Goodson's death with the community crying out for justice. Goodson's sister has organized a GoFundMe account to help the family with burial and legal fees.
