A Bellwood, Illinois couple were found dead inside of their home this week and area police are seeking the public's help. From the details surrounding this case, the bodies have possibly been in the home for some time.
Officers were called to investigate an odor coming from a home Wednesday afternoon in the 3400 block of Warren Avenue, police said in a statement.
Inside officers found 63-year-old Charles Banks Jr. and a 52-year-old Angela Banks police said. The pair was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial autopsy reports have found that the couple both died from injuries to the head sustained during an assault. Their deaths have been ruled a homicide.
Bellwood is a quiet, suburban, town that had only one homicide in 2020, three homicides in 2019 and five homicides in 2018, according to the medical examiner’s office.
