Body of a Man Found Floating in Central Park Pond.

Imagine trying to have an intimate gathering at Central Park's "swan lake" for the Labor Day holiday and, instead of enjoying the graceful swans swimming through the water, you find a dead body! That's exactly what happened earlier today to people who were visiting the park's pond.

A call went out to New York police and first responders shortly after 12:30pm of a body "floating" in the water. Police officers and the city's fire department showed up to the scene and first responders from the fire department retrieved the body from the water. The identity of the deceased hasn't been released as of yet but, he is described as an adult male.

According to New York's Pix11 the man "was pronounced dead at the scene, an FDNY spokesperson said.

The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the man's cause of death."

Due to the fact that the coroner hasn't completed an autopsy, authorities have no clue if the man died of natural causes or foul play. If you, or anyone you know, has any information on this case, police are urging you to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), visiting www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, downloading the NYPD Crime Stoppers mobile app, or texting 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577. Spanish-speaking callers are asked to dial 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
