7-Year-Old Girl Shot Dead by a Man Who'd Only Been Out of Jail for THREE HOURS!
7-year-old Aaliyah Norris was fatally shot this past Tuesday by a man who had just been released from jail only hours before. Shaquille Marshon Francis, 26, is accused of firing the shot that struck Aaliyah in the head as the little girl was inside a car in Forest City, North Carolina. Francis had reportedly just gotten released from jail three hours before the shooting occurred.
Aaliyah was taken to an area hospital in critical condition but died from her injuries a day later.
According to the New York Post police were tipped off by community members that Francis, of Forest City, was the suspect. He was arrested Wednesday and initially slapped with several charges, including assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.
After Aaliyah died, Francis’ charges were upgraded to murder, police said.
Francis has been arrested earlier on the day of the incident for an unrelated offense. He had allegedly been involved in an assault and pointed a gun, presumably the murder weapon, at another individual.
He is currently being held on a $10 million secured bond.
