Elderly Woman Charged After Beating Her Husband to Death with a Baseball Bat!

What would be a normal Sunday afternoon for most senior citizens turned into a bloodbath at one North Carolina home. Police say they went to a home in the 1700-block of Misty Meadow Lane shortly after 2pm Sunday afternoon and found that 67-year-old Harriett McNair Boykin had viciously attacked her husband.

Reports say that Boykin attacked her husband, Joey Keith Boykin, 58, with a baseball bat striking him several times about his head. Emergency crews transported Mr. Boykin to an area hospital where he later died.

Representatives for the defendant have not disclosed a motive or what lead up to the assault.

Mrs. Boykin has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.Police said Harriett Boykin is currently being held in the Wake County Detention Center under no bond and the investigation is ongoing.

Mrs. Boykin has not been charged with the death of Mr. Boykin but additional charges are pending.
