California Mother, Father and 4-Year-Old Son Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide.

It seems that almost every single week there's a story about a mother and her children being killed. This week, sadly, we've reported two. Just this past Thursday, one day before Valentine's Day, 25-year-old Jacoby Brandon Brooks killed his ex-girlfriend and their son.

Police were called to the intersection of Lewis Brown Road and B.W. Williams Drive in Vallejo, California on reports that there was a woman down. When they arrived they found the unnamed 26-year-old woman laying in the street dead. Reports say that she suffered at least one gunshot wound. After learning that the woman had a child, officers went to her residence in the 500 block of Quartz Lane in North Vallejo where they found the boy shot to death.

According to the Times Herald "Brooks was found a short time later in the area south east of the Quartz Lane crime scene dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police learned that Brooks and the woman “had a prior dating relationship.”

“Additionally, the investigation revealed Brooks and the female victim were believed to be the parents of the deceased 4-year-old,” police added in the same release."

Vallejo based rapper Nef the Pharaoh made a public statement saying that the victims were his sister and his nephew.

This is truly a sad and senseless act. Whatever happened to just letting someone live their lives after a breakup? This was a cowardly way out.

No motive has been discovered yet in this case and these two homicides are the second and third homicides in the city of Vallejo for 2020.
