Mother Calls Cops on Herself to Report She'd Drowned Her Toddler.
On this past Sunday, November 3rd, police in Gilroy, California received a call from a mother claiming she'd done the unthinkable. The call from 35-year-old Marcie Montelongo came in around 11:30am to 911 and she told the operator that she had "drowned her daughter in her bathtub".
When police responded to her residence, officers found the lifeless child in a bathtub filled with water. Officers removed the child and began CPR. The Gilroy Fire Department and Rural Metro arrived at the scene and provided additional lifesaving measures.
The child was transported to Saint Louise Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Montelongo was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for murder.
At this time there is no word on whether Montelongo is suffering from any type of mental illness that would have caused her to murder her daughter.
The child's name hasn't been released because the authorities are still trying to notify all of her family members.
