Sci-Fi Meets Black Love! John Boyega and Letitia Wright to Star in "Hold Back the Stars"!

John Boyega got his big break as "Finn" in 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and Letitia Wright stole all of our hearts as T'Challa's feisty little sister Shuri in this year's "Black Panther". Both British stars made such a lasting impression on viewers that we've followed them, in their individual careers, ever since. Now, we're going to get the chance to see them together like we've never seen them before. In a Sci-Fi love story!

The Hollywood Reporter broke the story that Boyega and Wright "are attached to star in the adaptation of the Katie Khan novel of the same name that centers on a man and a woman who revisit memories of their love affair on a utopian Earth while they are trapped in the vast void of space. . ."

The book "Hold Back the Stars" was released in May of 2017 and received mostly mixed reviews. Some readers stated that the characters were weak and the environment wasn't realistic while others raved about it like it was the second coming of Christ!

The publisher's synopsis reads as follows:

"Trapped in the vast void of space, Carys and Max have only ninety minutes of oxygen left to live. None of this was supposed to happen. After a freak accident, Carys and Max are left adrift in space with nothing to hold onto but each other. As they fall, they can’t help but look back at the world they left behind. A world whose rules they couldn’t submit to, a place where they never really belonged; a home they’re determined to get back to because they’ve come too far to lose each other now. While their air ticks dangerously low, one is offered the chance of salvation—but who will take it?"

Let's hope that the writers and directors flesh the characters and the surrounding universe a little more than the actual author did just in case the sour reviews were right.

John Boyega and Letitia Wright are both amazing actors and we're sure they will bring life to these "star crossed" lovers. The film is in it's early stages and doesn't have a release date as of yet. Is this genre something you'd be interested in?
