Remains of a Small Child Found in Texas Could be those of Missing Toddler Hazana Anderson.

We've been following the case of missing Texas 2-year-old Hazana Anderson since it first went national. We've given disturbing updates and even tried not to be judge and jury even though all the evidence clearly pointed in one direction.

We prayed for this child's safe return however, that may not the outcome.

"College Station Police Chief Scott McCollum said in a Wednesday evening press conference that remains consistent with a small child were recovered during the investigation into Hazana Anderson's disappearance.

The remains were recovered near State Highway 146 in Texas CIty.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, College Station Police worked with Texas Rangers, Bryan Police, Houston Police, Bellaire Police and the Galveston County Sheriff's Office to recover the remains.

McCollum declined to take questions at the press conference, but said police are now working to make a positive identification on those remains. Those efforts are expected to take several weeks.

Around noon on Wednesday, investigators wrapped up an overnight search of Travis B. Bryan Municipal Park and Municipal Lake that included search dogs, divers and sonar scanners.

Police said earlier Wednesday they were continuing to interrogate Hazana's mother, Tiaundra Christon, and were reaching out to family members and those who knew Hazana."

Although the body has not been positively identified as that of Hazana, the chance is extremely likely.

Her mother Tiandra Christon is still in jail on charges of child endangerment and filing a false police report. If the body is identified as that of Hazana, she could face additional charges. A judge set her bond at $200,000 for the child endangerment charge and $50,000 for filing a false report.

Our condolences to the family of this child.
