Michelle Obama Lightly Spills a Little Royal Tea. "They Want to Gossip" She Says of the En
We all know Michelle Obama, aka "Auntie" Chelle", has a book coming out later this year entitled "Becoming" and we can't wait to get our hands on it! We all want to know how it felt to be just a "girl from the south side of Chicago" and end up in Royal company more than once! In a recent interview, Mrs. Obama opened up about her relationship with Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royal family saying that she wasn't nervous at all during their "sleepover" at the Buckingham Palace in 2011.
"I think by the time we had the sleepover we had enough interacting with them,' Michelle, 54, explained. 'The surprising thing is folks wanted to be treated normally.
'Everybody is happy when all the people are gone. They want to be hugged. They want to be touched. They gossip."w
When asked if the cooking was better at the White House or Buckingham Palace, Michelle came out in support of her former home.
'I don't want to insult anybody, American food is just better,' she said, adding that the Queen has 'better china'.
When asked is she got to tour the palace she added details about a specific room:
'Everything is gold. We had seen the gold room - there's a room where they keep all the gold,' she recalled.
'It was Sasha's birthday and the Queen opened the house and she let us see that room.'
The Obamas has also become good friends of the royal Prince's as well even having dinner with Prince William and his family at their castle. If there's ever a friendship that you want to cultivate and keep, it's this kind. I'd rather have 6 powerful and purposeful friends than 100 million people who are only telling me what I want to hear and don't challenge me to do better.
