15-Year-Old Girl Charged with Murder in the Stabbing Death of 17-Year-Old High School Student Caught on Camera.

A late evening argument among teen girls turned deadly last night.

NYPD report that around 9:25 last night a group of girls were seen arguing on a surveillance camera near the 46th Street-Bliss Street subway station in Sunnyside. The fight escalated and one girl, wielding a knife, stabbed another girl in the neck.

The whole ordeal was captured on an area surveillance camera. In the video one girl, wearing dark sneakers, is seen crouching, appearing to pick up something from the ground and rummaging through her belongings. A fight appeared to break out between the two while they were in the crosswalk — just as their faces were off-camera. That's when, police say, the stabbing occurred.

The victim, 17-year-old Sara Rivera of Queens, was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead from her injury.

Another girl, who was present during the altercation, fled the scene on foot. Reports say that the group of girls were all previously friends and there is no clear motive as to why the argument turned deadly.

The girl who stabbed Rivera is documented to be only 15-years-old. Due to her age, she has not been publicly identified as of yet. She was taken into custody at the Flushing-Main Street subway station, which is the end of the No. 7 subway line, according to authorities.

Today, a vigil was held in memory of Sara Rivera underneath the 7 train where she died. More than 100 of Rivera's friends, loved ones and community members came to pay their respects. Her friends say that she was a student at the Queens Technical High School and that she was loved. Many left flowers, messages and candles to honor their friend.

The 15-year-old girl has been charged with second-degree murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
