Quanell X No Longer Representing Brittany Bowens, Mother of Missing Child Maleah Davis. [UPDATE]

A new development has risen in the case of missing toddler Maleah Davis but, not the one we'd hoped for. Community Activist Quanell X, who had been representing Maleah's mother, Brittany Bowens, has now said he can no longer represent the child's mother.

Just last week we reported that the Houston Police Department's Chief Art Acevedo felt like Derion Vence, the mother's ex-boyfriend who was in charge of Maleah the day she went "missing", knew where Maleah was and could lead the authorities directly to her "if he wanted to".

Vence has held to his wild story stating that he was knocked unconscious and Maleah was abducted by three Hispanic men.

No one on earth is believing that story other than Vence's family and truthfully, the citizens of earth have been side-eyeing Maleah's mother this entire time too. Now, Quanell X is adding his name to the roster of Brittany Bowens non-believers. He says it's because he believes she was not being truthful about the case.

We were all wondering how long it was going to take for Quanell X to see the same light that we were all standing in. We get wanting to believe in someone, especially when it's a grief stricken mother, but not this one. A mother who continues to live in a household where a man physically, and allegedly sexually, abuses her child isn't worth the oxygen that it would take to curse her name.

Meanwhile, Derion Vence's attorney has filed a motion to remove himself as counsel. Thomas H. Burton III filed the motion Wednesday, citing Vence and his family have not paid him and failed to “comply with terms of the employment.”

We're praying that this child receives the justice she deserves.
