14-Year-Old Boy Arrested for Kidnapping and Murdering a 6-Year-Old Girl.

An Indiana teen has been arrested for murdering a little girl. Authorities said that 6-year-old Grace Ross was reported missing from her home on Friday March 12, She was last seen in the area of Chapman Drive.

An intense search went underway to find the little girl alive and safe but, that was not the outcome. Grace was found dead two hours later in a wooded area near Chapman, the Metro Homicide Unit said in a press release.

In a press release Saturday evening from the St. Joseph County prosecutor's office, which oversees Metro Homicide, the office said the 14-year-old was not being named because he is "progressing through the juvenile system."

There is an autopsy scheduled for this morning and the results have not yet been released. The investigation is remaining open.

We've said it a million times, it's not always the creepy stranger or new man in mommy's life that we need to watch our children around. This child should have been safe in the company of other children but, this 14-year-old boy was not just another kid on the block.

At this time there has been no motive released as to why he killed her and no word on their relation to one another.
