Tennessee Woman Allegedly Paid a Hitman to Kill the Wife of Her Online Love Interest!

A 47-year-old Tennessee woman has been arrested after allegedly hiring someone to kill the wife of a man she met online.

Melody Sasser has been arrested and charged with one count of murder for hire after authorities say she hatched a plan to kill another woman.

Here's the back story:

Sasser met a man named David Wallace on Match.com and became smitten with him. They went on frequent hikes together but, things just didn't work out in the love department. Wallace found someone else and moved from Tennessee to Alabama to be with his then fiancee. When Sasser found out that he was set to marry someone else and became enraged.

Wallace said that Sasser began cyber-stalking him and his new wife Jennifer. Jennifer recalls a time when Sasser showed up at their residence and told them both "I hope you fall off a cliff and die!" After that, the stalking went into high gear and Sasser began making threatening phone calls to the couple. Then, things got worse.

Sasser went beyond anything she'd ever done and placed an order using a website called Online Killers Market to hire a hitman to kill Jennifer Wallace.

A foreign law enforcement agency notified the Department of Homeland Security in April of the assassination plot. Investigators say a user with the account name “cattree” paid the administrator of the website Online Killers Marketplace $9,750 for the hit and provided specific, accurate details about Wallace’s life. The hitman website, now defunct, was a scam and did not actually carry out assassination plots.

The DailyMail reported that alongside the transaction, Sasser had added a description of how she wanted the murder executed and details about the Wallace's life.

According to court documents, Sasser asked the site: 'It needs to seem random or accident, or plant drugs, do not want a long investigation.

'She recently moved in with her new husband, she works at home and in office in Birmingham.

'She drives a blue Subaru Outba97ck, her husband drives a maroon Jeep Grand Cherokee.

'Her husband works at Publix part time, they have three dogs that bark and jump.'

According to the affidavit, the information submitted about Jennifer Wallace and her husband was verified to be 100% accurate.

Sasser had also uploaded an image of Jennifer to the site so she could be positively identified by the assigned 'hitman'.

After officers informed the Wallace's of the threat on their lives, Jennifer is said to have told officers immediately about Sasser.

Sasser visited the hitman website frequently, asking for updates, making payments and leaving a digital trail that led authorities right back to her.

Sasser was arrested on May 18th and remanded in custody where she remains until a further court appearance on June 8th.
