Michelle Obama Teams Up with Netflix to Bring Kid Friendly Healthy Eating Show "Waffles and Mochi".
If you thought Michelle Obama was going to give up on trying to create a country of healthy kids once her husband left office, you, kind person, are sadly mistaken. Our #ForeverFLOTUS started her campaign to create healthy kids back during her husband's first term. "Let's Move" gave children healthier food, even though many didn't like it, during the school day and encouraged children to move more. "Let's Move" sought to defeat the problem of childhood obesity in this country and actually did make a pretty good sized dent.
With the help of her homegirl Beyonce', Mrs. Obama dropped the mother of all activity promos with a remix of The Queen's song "Get Me Bodied"
We have to admit, this version even had us adults trying to learn the choreography-workout routine!
The newest healthy venture from Mrs. Obama comes in the form of a children's show on Netflix. The show centers around two puppet characters "Waffles and Mochi" who help children discover new foods, learning how to prepare it and, of course, eat it. Mrs. Obama said in an Instagram post "These two will take us on adventures all around the world to explore new ingredients and try out new recipes. Kids will love it but I know that adults will also get plenty of laughs- and some tips for the kitchen."
The show is definitely an extension of Mrs. Obama's "Let's Move" campaign and, with any luck, children in this country will lead better lives because of it. The show isn't just for entertainment purposes though, Mrs. Obama says that she is working with the show's partners "Partnership for a Healthier America", a non-profit organization, to "get fresh ingredients to families in need across the country so they can cook together at home."
I don't know about you but, THIS is how you show that you care for the country even after your husband is done serving! Well done Mrs. Obama. "Waffles and Mochi" debuts on Netflix on March 16, 2021 and, even though we're adults, we'll be watching!
