Pregnant Woman Shoots and Kills Her Toddler Son, then Herself in National Park.

As if the world needed any more bad news, here comes the story of a mother, at her breaking point, that does the unthinkable.

The bodies of 24-year-old Tristen Watson and her 17-month-old son Christopher, were found on Beaver Meadows Trail in the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. Reports say that officials were responding to a call for a "suicidal subject". When they arrived they found both mother and son shot to death inside her car.

Autopsy reports revealed that Christopher was shot in the head and his death was ruled a homicide. Tristen also suffered a gunshot to the head and her death was ruled a suicide.

Watson and her husband, Derrick, announced in June that they were expecting a baby girl the couple had named Aspen Ann.

Derrick took to Facebook to say, in part, “I have been trying to find the words, but I simply have no words for the pain that this family is going through right now,"

As of yet, there has been no motive released as to why Tristen killed her son or herself. Funeral services for all three of them will be held this Friday.
