FBI Shoots and Kills Suspect in New Jersey Kidnapping Case.

It's been a frightful day in one New Jersey community. This morning FBI Agents reportedly shot, and killed, a suspect in a northern New Jersey kidnapping case.

The agents were investigating a reported kidnapping in Philadelphia that led them to a home in Leonia when gunshots rang out around 6 a.m., according to officials.

The kidnapping victim was safely recovered, unharmed, at the scene, officials said.

It was not clear if the person who was fatally shot was armed, or whether they fired at law enforcement officers or threatened them with a weapon.

However, a spokesperson for the FBI’s Newark Office told PIX11 News there was no further threat to the community.

Kidnappings, disappearances and trafficking cases have been on the rise around the country. Please be mindful of your surroundings at all times and, if you, or someone you know, has felt threatened by someone, please make sure to tell the authorities and make sure someone knows where you are at all times.
