Last Fall we reported on the bizarre case of a presumed "missing" toddler Hazana Anderson. Hazana's mother, Tiaundra Christon, said that she was walking with the child, who was in a stroller, through a local park in the state of Texas. Christon said that she realized she'd forgotten Hazana's bottle so she left the child, strapped in her stroller, to go retrieve it. When she returned her child was gone. Christon was charged with child endangering for leaving Hazana unattended and arrested.
This story NEVER held water with anyone who heard it and, after tearful pleas from the child's father, and tons of hours spent searching for her, her body was found.
The case got even worse when it was discovered that the toddler was had possibly been sexually assaulted before she was beaten to death by her mother's boyfriend Kenny Hewett. Now, an autopsy report has been completed and Hewett has formally been indicted by a grand jury.
"Kenny Hewett has been indicted on a charge of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence with the intent to impair a human corpse. Anderson's mother, Tiaundra Christon, is also facing charges related to the child's death.
The indictment obtained by KBTX says Hewett "placed Hazana's body in a body of water."
Galveston County Assistant Criminal District Attorney Patrick Gurski tells KBTX the criminal investigation is ongoing and the autopsy is complete, but results would not be publicly released at this time.
Hewett remains in the Galveston County jail on a $250,000 bond.
Christon is in the Brazos County jail facing multiple charges including the charge of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence with the intent to impair a human corpse."
We don't know how anybody could do this to a child, let alone the child's own mother.
