Man Charged with Two Counts of Murder in the Death of Keierra McNeil and Her Baby.

Kevin McKinney of Memphis has been charged with the death of 32-year-old Keierra McNeil and her unborn baby.

McNeil was found murdered in her car in a Walgreen's parking lot and her entire family suspected McKinney from the start.

McNeil's family says that on the day she was murdered she had gone to the Walgreens, at 9028 Walnut Grove, to meet with McKinney and discuss their co-parenting arrangement.

McNeil, who was six months pregnant with her first child was elated about the pregnancy but, McKinney was not. Her family claims he had been pressuring her to terminate the pregnancy and he did not want to be a father.

An eye witness said McKinney came out of the bushes near McNeil’s car and shot her several times before fleeing the scene in a white SUV. By the time emergency responders arrived, McNeil was already dead. Her baby also did not survive.

Though it took quite a few days to officially deem McKinney as a suspect, her family knew from day one and pressed the authorities to hold him accountable.

McKinney was finally arrested, a week later, and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

And as the family now plans a funeral instead, they find some comfort in knowing the man responsible for their pain is finally behind bars after a week of being on the run.

“We have been a little relieved. We still know there’s a process that has to happen. It is our prayer justice is served for Keierra,” a family member said.

We are thankful that Keierra's family was able to see him arrested for what he allegedly did.
