You've Got to be Kidding! Husband Texts His Girlfriend "Let's Kill Her" in Attempt to Kill His Wife!
You really have to be a special kind of person to try and set up ANY crime via text message these days. Even if the person you're sending the message to is someone you trust, electronic devices are about as monitored as you can be in this country and they've been getting people caught up for decades!
A Chattanooga Tennessee man is being charged with solicitation to murder after he sent a text to his girlfriend about killing his wife.
Jerry McDonald, a volunteer reserve officer for the City of Red Bank, was arrested after being accused of sending the murder plot text.
An affidavit of complaint shows segments of a text message exchange between McDonald and an unidentified individual.
The texts reveal McDonald's plan to kill an unnamed woman and reap the financial benefits from her death.
According to the affidavit, reported by News Channel 9, McDonald texted: "Please kill her babe, please. I'm begging you."
The affidavit goes on to say McDonald wrote: "This b**** is worth a million. Let's kill her and I collect a million and we live like the kings and queens we are"
McDonald's text continues: "There's over a million in her dad's safe. I'm saying I won't get caught."
The affidavit says Chattanooga Police responded to reports of an off duty officer being out with someone who believed their life was in danger.
It says once officers made contact, the victim told police they found the messages on McDonald's phone.
It says someone got a hold of McDonald's phone because he was passed out drunk and that person wanted to contact McDonald's boss to let them know he might not be at work that afternoon.
That's when the affidavit says the party involved found the text messages.
McDonald was booked in the Hamilton County jail.
He's being held on a $75,000 bond.
This is one time when checking your man's phone actually saves your life!
