Teacher's Aide, Accused of Sexually Assaulting Teen at a School for Special Needs, Commits Suicide!

A Pennsylvania teacher's aide who had been working at a school for children with special needs has reportedly committed suicide after being accused of sexual assault.

38-year-old Jennilynne M. Derolf was arrested on July 16, 2021 after being outed for having an alleged sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student.

According to their local news publication LevitTownNow, Derolf, the reported victim’s teacher’s aide at the Valley Day School in the township’s Morrisville section, had messaged with the teen on the Discord app. The two would also spend time together, including at Falls Township Community Park, police said.

The boy said the contact became romantic in June and “escalated” to sexual contact in July, according to police.

Derolf and the boy engaged in intercourse and other inappropriate activity in Bristol Township, Falls Township, and Tullytown Borough, police alleged in court papers.

The Valley Day School is a private school that takes students from Pennsylvania and New Jersey who have acute learning, adjustment, behavioral, or emotional needs.

Derolf was arrested and facing charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse on a person less than 16 years of age, statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, aggravated indecent assault with a person less than 16, institutional sexual assault, indecent assault on a person less than 16 years of age, and corruption of a minor.

Sunday afternoon, August 22nd, the case took a turn for the worse. The boy's parents contacted the local police to do a welfare check on the boy after they had discovered that Derolf wanted to arrange a meeting with the boy.

Officers responded to the area of Old Bristol Pike and Wheatsheaf Lane around 4:18 p.m. to locate the pair, police said.

“Upon the arrival of the police officers, Derolf committed suicide with a firearm,” police Chief Nelson Whitney said.

Officers and the teen were not hurt.

In this country everyone is supposedly innocent until proven guilty but this. . . this, to those on the outside looking in, looks like an admission of guilt.
