Human Remains Found in a Plastic Barrel Outside of a New Jersey Home!

Police is RIdgefield Park, New Jersey made a horrifying discovery on Friday when they went to investigate an suspicious barrel left on a residential street.

CBS 2 reports that police responded to Hobart Street and Teaneck Road around 10:30 a.m., where a barrel containing human remains was found in front of a home.

“It’s so scary to know that somebody just stuffed somebody in a barrel, like they are nothing. It’s so scary. That’s really brutal,” one resident said. “I hope they caught whoever it was because I don’t want to have to look over my shoulder. I want my kids to be able to play outside.”

Neighbors say sanitation crews pick up the garbage on Fridays, so the barrel did not initially appear suspicious.

It took two officers to hoist up the barrel into a van as so many questions linger and investigators try to piece together exactly what happened.

Police investigators have not released any details about the victim, including their gender, race or potential identity but, they were back in the neighborhood canvasing for answers.

Officers were seen going door to door talking to residents of the area trying to find any information on who could have left the barrel. Residents of the neighborhood believe that the barrel had to have been placed between 1-6am when everyone was indoors or asleep.

This investigation is ongoing. No suspects or cause of death has been disclosed.
