Body of Missing Florida Toddler Found Inside the Mouth of an Alligator. Father Charged with Murder.

This horrific story began on Wednesday March 29th around 8:30pm when a concerned neighbor in the Lincoln Shores Apartments told police they heard a “commotion” coming from an apartment. On Thursday afternoon the family of a woman who lived at the 11601 4th Street North address called the police to do a wellness check on her because they hadn't been able to reach her.

When the police arrived at the apartment they found evidence of a brutal homicide and the body of Pashun Jeffrey. St. Petersburg police say that Jeffrey had been stabbed multiple times but something else wasn't right about the apartment. Jeffrey has a two-year-old son, who was no where to be found.

An Amber Alert was issued at that time for Taylen Mosley.

Police detectives were able to do some investigating beginning with who would want to hurt Jeffrey and who was closest to her. They discovered that the father of Jeffrey's son, Thomas Mosley, had gone to his mother's house late Wednesday, around 9pm, with cuts to his hands and arms. Cuts that were so serious that he later went to an area hospital for treatment.

Officers kept Mosley in mind as a person of interest while they continues their investigation into Friday morning.

On Friday March 31st, St. Pete Police Chief Anthony Holloway says that the detectives working the case found a trail of blood near Jeffrey's vehicle. They began investigating the area of Dell Holmes Park when they spotted an alligator with something in its mouth in Lake Maggiore. Officers reportedly shot the alligator once and it then dropped the "object". When they took a closer look the discovered that the "object" was actually the body of little Taylen Mosley.

“We didn’t want to find him this way,” Holloway said in a press conference Friday afternoon “But at least we can bring some closure to that family now.”

Holloway also says that he does not believe that Thomas Mosley was a victim in any way connected with these murders and that he is the actual assailant. The coroner is now trying to determine if Taylen died before or after the alligator came upon him.

As of this moment, Thomas Mosley has been charged with two counts of first degree murder.
