Mini "Family Matters" Reunion in New Film "Christmas in Carolina"!
We love a good Christmas movie and, it looks like, Roku is going to come through with a new classic with some old friends.
Kellie Shanygne Williams and Darius McCrary, better known as Laura and Eddie Winslow from the popular late 80's show "Family Matters" are coming to a small screen near you. The pair once played siblings in the hit television show "Family Matters" that featured Jaleel White, as Steven Urkel, Jo Marie Patton and Reginald VelJohnson. The show premiered in 1989 and ran for nine seasons before it finally left the air in 1998. It was picked up in syndication with Hulu and become a culture classic.
The Winslow's gathered for a reunion, without their baby sister Judy, played by Jaimee Foxworth, who notoriously went upstairs to her room in 1993 and never came down. Once the series was over, Williams took some time off from acting to focus on her family. She's now married with two children. McCrary continued acting and is also a father.
The two hadn't been on a screen together in forever and all of that is preparing to change. Williams and McCrary are back and SIBLINGS again in a new holiday film "Christmas in Carolina."
Here's the official description for the film: After losing her parents in a car accident, Elle (Joslyn Y. Hall), a career-driven investment banker has given up on love and Christmas until she meets Wesley (David L. Rowell), a former NBA player and CEO of a small marketing firm. Impetuously, Wesley invites Elle home for Christmas in South Carolina, with his mom and uncle (Williams and McCrary). With hesitation, Elle accepts and is given a much bigger present than she could ever have imagined!
The film was directed by Peggy Williams and written by Stacie Davis. "Christmas in Carolina" will premiere on Roku devices on Nov. 1, accompanied by a release on video-on-demand and digital release platforms. If we weren't in the Christmas spirit before, we certainly are feeling it now!
