Florida "Caregiver" Arrested in Connection with Young Child's Death.

If mugshots could speak, what do you think this one would say?

David Vasquez Malave has been arrested in connection with the death of a Riverview, Florida child last month.

Shortly after 9am on July 19th, authorities say there was a 9-1-1 call for an unresponsive child.

"The child suffered lacerations and had bruising on their body, investigators said.

The victim was taken to Tampa General Hospital with life-threatening injuries, and the next day died of the injuries."

The Medical Examiner's Office said the death was attributed to homicide.

"No child should ever have to suffer as this young victim did," said Sheriff Chad Chronister in a news release. "This should never happen. It's an unthinkable tragedy. I am absolutely horrified with the actions by this suspect, and he will be charged to the fullest extent of the law."

Malave had been the child's "caretaker" on the day that the child was found unresponsive and is subsequently to blame for the child's death.

Malave faces charges of aggravated child abuse and murder in the first degree while engaged in aggravated child abuse.

He is in the Falkenburg Road Jail without bond.

The victim's identity or relationship with Malave will not be released by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office due to Marsy's Law which grants victims privacy and anonymity.
